From the Salzburg Festival 2018: Salome

The staging of Salome by Roberto Castellucci went down in the history of the Salzburg Festival: “Performance of the Year”, “Singer of the Year”, “Director of the Year” (Opernwelt). The Salzburger Nachrichten wrote about the TV adaptation: Salzburger Nachrichten:

“Here, a document becomes a film (and sound) work of art in its own right: as ideally suited to the ideal of the performance as can only be achieved in lucky cases.“
